Selling your home with small children

Posted on 01/16/2015

Selling your home can be stressful. Adding kids into the mix and stress levels can double. Below you will find some tips on selling your home with small children.  It may help to develop a check list.

Schedule showings: Request a few hours notice before showings. This give you time to put away clutter and get the kids out.

Store kids stuff: Before putting your house on the market, remove clutter. For the toys kids don't use, put them in storage. For the toys used regularly, have a bin handy where you can place them during showings.

Places to go: Have a plan of where to take the kids during showings. Examples include: Friends, shopping, library, park, walk around the neighborhood.

Involve kids: Have a written plan of who does what.

Clean as you go: Clean dishes, make beds. This will make it easier if you have a last minute showing request.

Keep your trunk clear: When you have a last minute showing request, throw clutter in the trunk of your car.

As always, if you have any question ask your Realtor.
