Best Pawleys Trip ever

We've been coming to Pawleys since 1990, and this was the best trip ever. The house was awesome. The people at Lachicotte are always fantastic. Our family looks forward to our week at Pawleys as much as it does to Christmas. We were initially disappointed to hear that the owners will occupy Cathcart during our week next year, but our spirits were quickly lifted when we found out that Sherman would be our replacement. In the years following Hugo, we stayed in al-Me-Gee until it was sold. The bottom line, we'll keep coming back to Pawleys every year, and we'll continue to rely on the fantastic folks at Lachicotte to make sure that we're taken care of. Thanks for everything, and we can't wait until next august.

Thank you again for a wonderful week! We would be nowhere else than Pawley's Island, and the Cathcart house is perfect in size and location! A special thank you to Vicky for her years of kind and professional service -- we really appreciate her personal care and concern.

Our Fifth Happy Year

July 2010 was our 5th year in this homey, well-supplied house with children and grandchildren. However--(1) walkway to beach rapidly deteriorating; weak boards, sagging supports, and grandchildren getting large splinters; (2) appreciate owner's desire for waterproof mattress covers, but it's like sleeping on plastic; very uncomfortable; the mattress covers need to be covered by good mattress pads to allow ventilation around body; (3) double bed in south front 2d floor bedroom is very wobbly; neither person can move w/o disturbing the other.

Cathcart is a lovely and spacious home. We especially enjoyed the roomy back porches with terrific ocean views. The upper porch was much used in the morning for coffee and in the evening to watch the moon rise. There was plenty of room in this house(6 bedrooms and 4 baths, I believe) for our family of 9 adults and three children. The furniture and decorations were perfect for a "old-time" beachy feel. The only downside for us was the lack of a creek view from the front which we have enjoyed before, but we were able to walk to the creek to the dock whenever we wanted. All in all, it was great!
