ABOUT THE MURRELLS INLET AREA
The historic fishing village of Murrells Inlet which once hosted pirating sailors retains the unique charm of a time gone by when the pace was slow, sun was warm, skies were blue and land was beautiful and when buckets of fresh oysters and pails of fish waited just off the end of the dock. The beauty is it's still that way today.
Murrells Inlet remains a sportsman's paradise: bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and to the west by the Waccamaw River. Even a lazy fisherman can cast a line from the 1,000-foot public fishing pier and bring home fresh flounder.
Part of the charm of Murrells Inlet is its cultural blend-flip flops and Fendi, cutoffs and cashmere. Yet, boats and seafood still rule. More than 30 restaurants offer up a feast of fresh and salt water delicacies in the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina." A stroll along the MarshWalk presents a nostalgic view of the timeless inlet, blended with a gumbo of scents wafting from the restaurants bordering the walk.
A whole family of sports - fishing, boating, surfing, playing golf on dozens of area courses, tennis and biking - are within minutes of your front door.
If you decide to venture a little further, the night life, shows, water parks, and activities are a short ride north to Myrtle Beach. Tours that take you back in time through oak-covered streets and pre-Civil War historic homes are only an hour or more away to the south in Georgetown and Charleston.

A nautical architectural theme echoes the history of Murrells Inlet. Features include plantation shutters and Lowcountry touches such as raised-seam metal roofs, shingles and board-and-batten siding, framed by true coquina and tumbled brick accents.
