Boating

Description:
With the converging of five major rivers in the Georgetown area, boating is a perfect pastime. The Pee Dee, Sampit, Black, Santee, and the Waccamaw River-that serves as the Intracoastal Waterway-find many watercraft meandering through their waters: pleasure craft, fishing boats, sailboats, world-traveling yachts, and others find a place of peace and relaxation and great dining along the banks of these rivers, the Winyah Bay in Georgetown, and the creeks of Pawleys and Litchfield. Sea-going vessels have quick access to the ocean through the rivers and canals and locals are willing to help navigate. Fishing is renowned in the creeks around Pawleys and in the rivers near Georgetown to Murrells Inlet.Sunrises and sunsets are the most glorious over the water. Fourth of July fireworks can be viewed during the evening from Winyah Bay and the daytime boat parade is fun for all in Murrells Inlet.
